Based on Norse mythology, players take on the role of a Valkyrie named Lenneth, known as the Chooser of the Slain. Through her, players recruit and prepare the souls of fallen warriors for a final apocalyptic battle between two kingdoms. Along the way, she uncovers the tragic events of her own hidden past, which is shown as a prelude to the story. The original Playstation version of Valkyrie Profile was well received by both popular critics, such as GameSpot and IGN, and gamers. For the stunning PSP comeback, gamers and reviewers alike praised the improvement of cutscenes, additions of fmvs, the captivating music, and keeping the best of the original game, such as gameplay, battle sequence, and story.
