Gears of War 2: Coming to You November 7

Epic Games and Microsoft Game Studios brings to you this fall another installment in the Gears of War series. Gears of War 2, a third-person shooter game, will continue the critically acclaimed story line of the best selling Gears of War. Due to release on November 7, Gears of War 2 already has gamers feverishly following new developments.

Taking place six months after the detonation of the Lightmass Bomb at the end of the first game, Gears of War 2 begins as a new disease called “Rust Lung” spreads among the remaining human population. Despite the months of peace between Tollen and Montevado, the cities mysteriously disappear underground, leading us to suspect the return of the Locust. Soon after, Jacinto seems at risk. In order to protect Jacinto, one of the last safe havens for humans, a large-scale counter attack must be made against the Locust. As comic book writer Joshua Ortega says, “The stakes are raised. This is humanity's last stand. Everything is at risk. Nothing is safe.”

In addition to the huge amount of buzz surrounding its release, GoW2 has won several awards following its presentation at E3 2008, including Overall Best Shooting Game and Overall Best Graphics Technology. Game Critics Awards have also given the upcoming game the award of Best Action Game of E3 2008.
