CRACKDOWN by Real Time Worlds for the XBOX 360 promises a whole new level of openness as players wander the streets. In this game, players take on the role of a cop endowed with above normal powers by an influential group known as the Agency. These capabilities provide players with awesome abilities like scaling buildings and hurling cars. The mission for this steroidal cop is to try and clean the city of crime, and to do this, players must find a way to do away with the crime bosses that have succeeded in getting the city under their thumbs. Since players have taken on the role of this super crime eliminator, they are now above the legalities that bind most cops. Player’s strengths are broken down into five different sections: shooting abilities, driving, athletic ability, sheer strength, and explosives knowledge. Once players have mastered how to take down bad guys using these methods, their strength in that area will increase. One of the good things about playing this type of game is the added extra of playing with XBOX Live, opening the game up to even more potential for the type of mutual gaming that players can access through this feature. Fans of these type of free-wheeling action adventure games in which the player has almost no limitations and a whole city to explore will immediately find themselves addicted.
