Based on the Cartoon Network’s popular show, Namco’s ATOMIC BETTY for the Game Boy Advance puts players in the role of Betty as she battles against the evil Maximus Minimus and his plots. Betty seems like a normal grade school student, but like many normal-seeming people, she has a secret. She is really Atomic Betty, Galactic Guardian and Defender of the Cosmos. Of course, being a superhero isn’t easy. Betty has to defeat Maximus, hide her identity, and sneak back into class before she’s counted absent. Gamers will get to control not only Betty but also her friends Sparky, X-5, Noah, and Paloma as they fight Maximus and his minions. Each of them has unique skills and abilities that players will need to make the most of to get through the game’s different levels and solve its numerous puzzles. X-5, for example, can reach items that the other character’s can’t, and Betty can use her trademark bubble power to float another character up to a hard-to-reach area. Other abilities players will make use of include rolling, a grappling hook, and a jet pack. In addition to the platformer levels, there are also a few areas where players will get behind the controls of Betty’s Hyper-Galactic Star Cruiser to blast through asteroids and enemy spacecraft. ATOMIC BETTY brings all of the fun of the cartoon series to the GBA, and gamers who enjoy watching Betty’s adventures on the Cartoon Network will have a blast playing this game.
