Everyone’s favorite virtual family hits the GBA. Electronic Arts brings the SIMS 2 to consoles everywhere. The GBA version is full of the same fun, originality, and humor that the original PC game became known for. Players who are already familiar with the SIMS will be able to jump right in and start creating their characters. Gamers who haven’t played the popular simulation game may be a bit overwhelmed by the number of different options, but they will quickly grasp the intuitive controls. Everything the characters do, including their education, job, hobbies, and living conditions is dictated by the player. In the GBA version, players can choose to play a series of short SIMS stories where they have specific goals to accomplish for their Sim. In addition to customizing a character’s physical look, SIMS 2 asks players to assign certain traits and personality to the character. These traits determine how that character interacts with others. A Sim with the trait of shyness, for example, won’t be as outgoing as other Sims. Gamers also give their players aspirations that determine what the player needs to do to make their Sims happy and advance. These aspirations include being wealthy, finding romance, or being popular. Gamers who played the first SIMS game will see hundreds of new options here, including new jobs, characters, and objects. SIMS 2 promises all the same SIMS fun and creativity as the original plus many new additions and, for the first time, the portability offered by the GBA.
