It would have been sufficient to make a few updates to the amazing NFL 2K1, but Sega has created an entirely new game engine for this installment of the poplar football simulation. Of course, you’ll be able to play as any NFL franchise complete with real rosters, players, uniforms, and stadiums. Each squad has its own true-to-life offensive and defensive playbooks as well, and there are a few unique plays actually designed for each specific team. Improved running and pass-catching systems allow for smoother offensive flow, and there’s more intuitive defensive play-calling system this time around. New player models make for the most realistic animations and movements to date, and the play-by-play commentary is simply unrivaled. Add in a few new modes of play (including an Internet-based option), and you’ve got yourself one impressive pigskin package. Up to four players can get in on the action.
