Based on the upcoming remake, Ubisoft’s KING KONG for the PSP takes players from a lost world filled with dinosaurs to modern day New York City. Playing both as screenwriter Jack Driscoll and as the great ape himself, players will fight their way through a number of different environments and locations. The storyline of the game follows the new movie adaptation fairly closely. Jack, filmmaker Carl Denham, and up-and-coming star Ann Darrow are looking for the perfect location for a new film, and they think Skull Island is just the place. Upon arrival, however, the find the island crawling with prehistoric creatures, dangerous natives, and one giant ape. Much of KING KONG takes place in the first-person perspective of Jack. Players find themselves as one of the smallest inhabitants of the island, facing off against huge dinosaurs like raptors and tyrannosaurs rex. There are few weapons to be found, but Jack does have matches to light fires with. Often, however, Jack won’t want to attack creatures directly. Instead, he can use items he finds to create distractions until he gets more powerful weapons like the rifle later. Other parts of the game puts players in the role of King Kong himself. The great ape must save Ann from a hungry group of dinosaurs. As Kong, players will leap, climb, and fight their way to Ann, pulling off some spectacular stunts. KING KONG faithfully brings Kong’s newest big-screen adventure to life, giving players all the could look for in a game.
